Off to Puppy Park

The Ls had a great time exploring puppy park - new smells, new toys, new surfaces. True to form they romped and scampered. Here are some highlights. The keys, flying saucer and slide/tunnel were real hits.

The lovely L's

A number of our friends in the Gold Rush chapter came over today to help wear out the pups so we could get a nice picture of a litter. Not only is a tired puppy a happy puppy, a tirec puppy is much easier to take a picture of, especially when you multiply this x 10. Many thanks to Nancy Vise for bringing equipment, taking practice shots and advising on arrangement to accomplish......

The Ls

Thanks to all the puppy wranglers, cradlers, furniture movers and wealth of help it takes to document such cuteness! Enjoy!

Crate training

The pups spend a few minutes each day learning about crates. Sometimes they check it out on their own.

More toys

The pups needed some new soft toys so they could play tug with them rather than just each other. Karen went shopping today and here is what she found.

Momma checks out the toys

The pups were in need of some new toys to develop their large motor skills and give them something new to chew on besides each others ears. So Karen went off to the store in search of varied puppy toys. Among the things which came home were new balls for pushing around. Auntie Chelan is ball obsessed, so she had to try at least one of them. Dawna is not much of a ball dog, but she seemed to know these were for her pups, and wanted to put her stamp of approval on them.

Murphy's Visit

Mr. Murphy decided to pay us a visit last night, when the washing machine developed a leak midway through a load of poopy puppy laundry. A brief survey provided both an inital diagnosis and a plan of action - a new washer. Our 14 year old faithful Whirlpool was not going to make it through the L's tenure.

Many thanks to the PRs and B/Cs of the local Gold Rush Champions chapter for CCI who provided quick responses and advice on washing machines that can handle pet hair and large bulky loads. Our new Maytag will be arriving later today. :-)

Dinner "outside"

Tonight the pups had time in the "gymnasium" which is the large space in our garage where they get to run and play. Gymnasium time tonight started with dinner.

last week's lessons

Last week we learned that blogging and migraines do not mix. Sorry for the delays in posting, but we had some "technical difficulties" in the human side of the equation.

Here are some snapshots of the L pups growth last week:

More space
Pups moved to the big x-pen midweek, just in time for weaning. This meant more toys, different surfaces and the start of potty training.
